We have news.
Big News
Monumental News
The call came while we were at the seminary on Tuesday. David was in the hall talking with students and I heard his phone ring. I knew as soon as I heard the bleep bleep bleep  of his cell phone. I knew who was calling and what it was about. I knew. I don't know I knew, but I did.

About a six weeks ago we were contacted and asked to consider becoming kinship foster parents for three boys. We've know these boys for eight years, David was their pastor when they were really little.

That's right. They're big. Three big boys. (It's still sinking in.)

(Warm fuzzy feeling: when the boys were baptized earlier this year they asked David to come back to their church and baptize them. Everybody say "awww....")

For several months the boys had been on our hearts. The Lord placed a desire within us that can only be described as providential. At the beginning of July David contacted their caseworker and said "If there's anything we can do to help, just give us a call."
And she did. She called and asked if we were willing to do a home study for possible placement in our home.
So...
We filled out pages and pages of paperwork, went through a home study, and were approved all over the course of about a month. Yep. It's happening really quickly.

The boys (who will remain anonymous on the blog) will be coming to live with us sometime in the middle of September. They are 10, 11, and 15 years old, and will hence forth be referred to as our three "1/2 men."

I've been journaling about the process, and I'll put some of that on the blog. I want you to see God's hands all over this thing.

But for now I just wanted to get it out there - you know why? So you can pray. We definitely covet your prayers for us, and our three 1/2 men right now. We need 'em!
